Walkathon 2013

On Saturday the  20th of April 2013,  Majlis Ansarullah , an auxillary wing of the Ahmadiyya Muslim community  once  again  were out in full force  at the Barry Curtis Park  to help support  Humanity First  and  the Royal New Zealand Foundation of the Blind.This organisation within the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community NZ organised a 10km walkathon as a way to fund raise for a worthy cause.  National President, Iqbal Mohammed in his closing remarks and vote of thanks  said “…We decided to use the Islamic teachings of helping our people and our neighbours first. The Ahmadiyya Muslim Community of New Zealand’s Silver Jubilee celebration held at the Mt. Eden War Memorial Hall, Auckland on Sunday 24th March 2013 was a huge success, graced by community leaders, guests and politicians from all parties, including Mr Richard Prosser of New Zealand First.The community was applauded for their work in promoting peace and religious tolerance in New Zealand and around the world. The Ahmadiyya Muslim Community was founded in 1889 in Qadian, India. It is a dynamic, and the fastest growing international revival movement within Islam. The Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama’at (Community) of New Zealand will be hosting their Silver Jubilee Celebratory Conference this Sunday 24th March at the Mount Eden War Memorial Hall from 11.00 am as the finale of a long list of events that commenced in March 2012. The National President of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community in New Zealand, Mr. Mohammed Iqbal said, “In line with our efforts to promote awareness and understanding of peace, tolerance, love and understanding among all communities, we are inviting guests from all communities and Civic leaders to join us in these celebrations”.
